I Made My Peace / POEM
Oh my, how and why
I came to be.
Dug my hole
when the ground howl,
it shook me.
Reins in my hand,
bounds the time
now and then.
Witness what you brought this soil,
unearthed and bare naked.
Spoiled,
by a couple of dime.
Jesus,
what a time to be alive.
Be kind to your neighbor
and love each other.
Bury your loved ones
who
murdered others.
A hatchet
is what you're lookin' for.
Ghosts of the past
came knockin' your door.
Blood spilled soil is sacred,
that's true
but gluttony is a sin,
your guests
might have told you.
I came to be.
Dug my hole
when the ground howl,
it shook me.
Reins in my hand,
bounds the time
now and then.
Witness what you brought this soil,
unearthed and bare naked.
Spoiled,
by a couple of dime.
Jesus,
what a time to be alive.
Be kind to your neighbor
and love each other.
Bury your loved ones
who
murdered others.
A hatchet
is what you're lookin' for.
Ghosts of the past
came knockin' your door.
Blood spilled soil is sacred,
that's true
but gluttony is a sin,
your guests
might have told you.
